From the Archives: 1967 Shelby EXP500 Convertible Prototype

In going through some photos albums stored online, I found this set, taken in 2004 at the Volo Auto Museum north of Chicago. It is the one-off 1967 Shelby EXP 500 convertible prototype that was rebodied into a 1968 configuration for publicity purposes. The Shelby VIN tag which I photographed (but not included here) ends in 139 which is the same number of the car that is very well documented at http://www.1967shelbyconvertible.com

Anyone who has information on this car, please contact me by leaving a comment here in the album.

    Hi:

I would likke to purchase some more photos from you.  I bought a couple a few years ago.  When the car was at Volo I visited 2 or 3 times, crawled all over it getting casting numbers off parts, taking photos of interior, engine, etc., and have since almost exactly duplicated the car.

    Thanks
